Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which size my child needs?

Though using head circumference is not perfect because it doesn't account for different head shapes, it is still the best place to start when choosing helmet size. Using a soft tape measure, measure all the way around the widest part of your child's head, about 1 inch above their eyebrows and ears. Compare the measurement against the 2 sizes: XXS (45-49 cm) & XS (49-53 cm).

Now that I have the Sidekick, how do I make sure it fits my child correctly?

The Sidekick was designed with children's comfort in mind, so there are multiple ways to fine tune the helmet's fit. Refer to the guide below to get acquainted with your Sidekick.

Where can I get the charms?

Ozmo doesn't actually make any charms. We only designed the Charm Slide slot on the back of the helmet (and the button slots on the Cold Weather Kit ear covers) to be compatible with any Croc Jibbitz or shoe charms, because we wanted to give little ones an opportunity to personalize their own helmet. The existing shoe charm market is endless, you can find any character you want!

I have a four year old and a two year old and we chose the XS for both. They both LOVE their helmets. They are so excited about their helmets they want wear them around the house. I feel confident about their safety when on our e-bike. They are easy to put on and take off and they adjust well.

We've had this helmet for a few months and so far we like it. Our son is 19 months and has been wearing it since 15 months without any issues keeping it on. Our son wears it when he rides the 4 wheeler with us.

Our daughter does great in this helmet. The adjustment is easy and I love the ratchet on the back for securing it. The pads for head circumference adjustment worked great for her smaller head and we sized them back after she grew a bit. I can't say the cold weather cap is great. It didn't sit fully in the helmet so it felt like the helmet wouldn't fully come down on her head. That's not a big deal at this time of year but I probably won't be using it again at this point for when the cold season comes she'll probably need to size up. I would recommend the helmet though. It fits great, looks great on her, and appears quite safe!
